Cybersecurity and Compliance Services

A client security questionnaire or cyber-insurance renewal can expose a practical problem: your firm has security tools, but nobody can clearly explain which people and systems they protect, whether they are working, or who corrects gaps.

IT Assure helps CPA, accounting and law firms manage defined cybersecurity controls and maintain useful information about their operation. Our managed cybersecurity service is Cyber Defensibility. Technical compliance-readiness support builds on that work; it is not a certification that your firm meets every obligation.

Start with the controls behind the answers

A completed questionnaire is only useful when its answers reflect the environment. We establish the agreed security baseline, monitor covered controls and repeatedly validate their operation and coverage. When a routine covered gap appears, we correct it and verify the result. Work outside scope is identified for a separate decision.

Depending on the agreed service scope, this includes:

  • Identity, MFA and privileged-access security.
  • Endpoint protection and threat monitoring.
  • Email security and security-awareness controls.
  • Security patch posture, configuration and encryption.
  • Backup monitoring and coverage.
  • Clear reporting of corrected gaps, remaining risks and client actions.

Support for security questionnaires and readiness

Leadership may need to explain its technical safeguards to clients, insurers or other reviewers. We can help organize information about the controls we manage, their coverage and known exceptions. An unanswered question or missing control should become a defined action with an owner, rather than an unsupported assurance.

The firm remains responsible for the accuracy of its representations. Requirements that involve legal interpretation, business policy or controls outside our service need the appropriate owner or specialist.

Cybersecurity, compliance and insurance have different roles

Cybersecurity reduces risk but cannot eliminate it. Managing technical controls does not by itself establish compliance with every law, contract or professional obligation.

IT Assure supports technical cyber-insurance readiness. We do not determine coverage, eligibility, premiums or claim payment, and we do not replace the insured, broker, carrier or legal advisor. Cyber Defensibility supplements appropriate cyber insurance.

Clear ownership and a practical next step

Your internal IT person or general technology provider can retain agreed day-to-day responsibilities while IT Assure owns the defined cybersecurity controls. See how co-managed cybersecurity divides responsibilities.

The optional Quick Self-Check is self-reported, not a technical audit. A Cybersecurity Review is an approximately 30-minute business conversation about current protections, responsibilities and concerns. Selected technical validation is a separate step when appropriate. See how the process works.
