Keep your IT team. Let us handle the cybersecurity work.
Your internal IT person or consultant can continue supporting daily technology and business applications. IT Assure manages the cybersecurity protections included in Cyber Defensibility.
We monitor those protections, check actual coverage, correct routine gaps, and verify the result. We do not simply provide another dashboard or hand the same cybersecurity workload back to your team.
During onboarding, we agree the access and coordination needed to work together. After that, we handle the routine security work and involve your team when coordination, authorization, or a business decision is needed.
Where Co-Managed Cybersecurity Fits
Cyber Defensibility is designed primarily for CPA, accounting and law firms with around 20–100 employees that need a clearly accountable cybersecurity function. Co-managed delivery is one responsibility arrangement for that service.
It may be a fit when:
- Your internal IT team is capable but stretched.
- Your current support arrangement leaves cybersecurity ownership or coverage unclear.
- Security tools exist, but no one is regularly validating whether controls are working.
- Cyber insurance, client due diligence, or security questionnaires have raised questions about actual protection.
- Known cybersecurity gaps exist, but responsibility for correcting them is unclear.
- Leadership wants clearer visibility into what is protected, what is drifting, and what needs action.
If your existing provider or security team already owns these responsibilities and consistently validates coverage, Cyber Defensibility may not be necessary.

What IT Assure Manages
The agreed Cyber Defensibility scope defines the controls IT Assure manages, monitors, validates and maintains.
Depending on the agreed scope, these may include:
- Identity and access control
- MFA and privileged access
- Endpoint and threat protection
- Email and phishing protection
- Backup monitoring and coverage
- Security awareness training
- Security configuration, patch posture and encryption
- Cybersecurity monitoring
- Coverage gaps and actions requiring follow-through
When a routine covered gap is found, we correct it and verify the result. Material issues or work outside the recurring scope are escalated for a separate decision.
How We Work With Your IT Team
Responsibilities, access and authority are agreed before service begins.
Internal IT Team
Your internal IT person or team continues handling daily IT operations outside the cybersecurity scope.
Existing Providers and Vendors
Where another provider remains involved, the client and providers must agree which responsibilities stay with that provider and which transfer to IT Assure. If your current provider already delivers mature, accountable cybersecurity, an additional service may not be needed.
Access and Authority
IT Assure needs sufficient access and authority to manage the covered controls and correct routine gaps. The firm supplies an accurate user and device population, adopts required controls, and provides timely approvals.
The operating cycle remains the same: Monitor → Validate → Identify Gap → Remediate → Revalidate → Report.
What Leadership Receives
Leadership receives a clearer view of:
- Which cybersecurity controls are in place
- Which intended users and devices are covered
- What gaps were found and corrected
- What gaps remain
- What exclusions or client actions require attention
- Who owns the next step
Reporting gives leadership practical visibility into the work performed and the decisions still needed. Evidence supports that work; it does not replace managing the controls.
What Co-Managed Cybersecurity Is Not
Co-managed cybersecurity is not a generic helpdesk plan, unlimited support package, one-time checklist, or tool resale bundle.
It is a defined managed cybersecurity service with an agreed division of responsibilities.
Routine remediation of covered controls is part of the agreed recurring scope. Major projects, specialized security engineering, advanced incident response, forensics, penetration testing and work outside that scope require a separate decision. The service is not a compliance certification or a guarantee that no incident will occur.

Start with the optional Quick Self-Check, or book a Cybersecurity Review directly. This approximately 30-minute business conversation explores current responsibilities, protections and concerns. Limited technical validation is a separate step when warranted; any onboarding and ongoing service have an agreed scope.
